A Beginner’s Guide To Fantasy Premier League

How Do I Pick My Team?

To get the ball rolling you need to pick a team before anything else. Fantasy Premier League gives you a £100m budget for you to spend on your team. For those who are new to the game, this budget may seem like quite a decent amount, but once you take a closer look at the list of players and begin the selection process, you’ll quickly see how fast the money will decrease. Your team will consist of 15 players, however on 11 of them can start every week, so you need to decide which four will be on the bench. Each player is assigned a price based on their ability and the points they scored last season. Generally, the more expensive players will be in the midfield and forward positions.

How Do I Score Points?

There are a few ways to score points in the Fantasy Premier League. Most of the points come through goals, that midfielders and strikers score goals and assists, as well as defenders and goalkeepers via clean sheets and saves. Whoever, your captain is will score double points in that Gameweek. Bonus points are also given to top-performing players.

What Are Fantasy Premier League Chips?

In FPL you are given a total of five chips to use throughout the season, which Fantasy managers can use during the season to boost their overall points and scores in any of the Gameweeks.

  • Wildcard – The Wildcard gives you the chance to make an unlimited number of transfers in a Gameweek without taking any points being deducted. incurring  You will get two of these to use. The first wildcard is available from the start of the season, at the end of December, while the second one can only be used after a certain date in preparation for January’s transfer window.
  • Triple Captain – Typically, your chosen captain will score double points in a Gameweek. However, during one of the weeks in the season, you can take advantage of the Triple Captain chip to triple his score.
  • Bench Boost – Generally, you are required to place dour of your players on the bench, but the Bench Boost gives you the chance to score points from these players, one week a season. These points will then be added to your overall Gameweek score.
  • Free Hit – This is the most powerful chip we get. It permits you to make unlimited transfers at no cost- which means you can completely reselect your team.

The Fantasy Premier League Cup

The Fantasy Premier League Cup is a competition that only begins in Gameweek 17. However, fantasy managers need to qualify to be able to compete. You will be selected at random to play against other managers in the first round, if you win you will move on to the next round and so on. Eventually, in Gameweek 38, the two remaining finalists will go head to head for the ultimate win. The same rules apply as regular games.
