Babe Didrikson Zaharias may not exactly be so well known to the younger generation so for those who don’t know, she is a multi-sport American athlete who two gold medals in track and field at the 1932 Olympics and won 10 LGPA major championships. She won a total of 82 gold tournaments. Zaharias also took part in basketball, baseball, softball, diving, roller-skating, and bowling. There was nothing that Zaharias couldn’t do, she was known for breaking many boundaries during her time as an athlete which is the reason she made it on to our list. This outstanding American swimmer has broken many records so far and she’s just 23 years old. To date, Katie Ledecky has won five Olympic gold medals and 14 world championship gold medals, which is an impressive record for any female swimmer. At the moment she also holds the world record in women’s 400-meter, 800-meter, and 1,500-meter freestyle. She was only 15 years old when she made her international debut at the 2012 London Olympics at 15 years old and left many speechless with her amazing results. She has broken fourteen world records throughout her career, and many believe she is bound to break some more and conquer major success.
Megan Rapinoe
For those who aren’t exactly up to date with women’s American Football, meet Megan Rapinoe. She is the co-captain of the United States women’s national soccer team. In 2019, she also helped the US to its second consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cup championship scoring six goals for the Golden Boot and Golden Ball Awards, and in 2015 she was part of the team that won the Cup, as well as the 2012 Olympic team, which took home gold.
